Give your baby’s delicate skin something special – with this wonderfully soft bodysuit in 100 % natural Peace Silk, natural white, skin-friendly because it is undyed. The fluffy Bourette silk jersey is pleasantly stretchy and nestles gently against your baby’s body without restricting it.

Please note: the bodysuit is cut small, so we recommend ordering one to two sizes up. The fabric may shrink slightly when washed.

Washable: hand wash or wool cycle up to 40 °C with silk detergent, do not spin – iron gently to refresh hygienically.

In a review (Polymers, 2022), sericin – the natural silk protein that is particularly abundant in Bourette silk – showed antibacterial properties in the laboratory.

Silkworm rearing takes place in the open, under natural conditions – free of chemicals and hormones. The caterpillars live outdoors and are not fed artificially.
Our silk feels pleasant on the skin – even on sensitive skin.
Silk is obtained cruelty-free. The moth hatches before the cocoon is spun.
Eco-conscious: dyeing is one of the most water- and chemical-intensive steps in textile production – we skip it for our natural white and cream silk fabrics.
By buying directly from our partner workshops we support fair conditions, mutual appreciation and the preservation of traditional craftsmanship in smallholder structures.

What Makes Silk So Good?

A good climate for skin and scalp: silk is temperature-balancing – it warms when it is cool and cools when it is warm. It can reduce excessive sweating.
Related to skin: like our skin, silk is protein-based – pleasant even on sensitive skin.
Valued with house dust mite allergies: the dense fibre structure offers dust mites far less habitat than many other textiles.
