Our Peace Silk fabrics come from small, select farms, primarily in India and Turkey, where the silkworms are allowed to complete their natural life cycle. Peace Silk is more sustainable because the caterpillars are allowed to complete their life cycle and emerge as butterflies. These butterflies are capable of flight because they are not overbred. After hatching, they are released into the wild, where, like bees, they promote biodiversity.

We currently offer primarily natural white silk fabrics. These are undyed, and some are gently bleached with oxygen when necessary. We plan to expand our range of dyed silk fabrics in the coming years. For orders of 45 meters or more, we offer custom dyeing services – you can find out more in the "Business Customers" section.

Peace Silk should be washed gently by hand or in a wool cycle without spinning, hung up smooth and then ironed at a low temperature with little steam.

There is currently no independent certification for Peace Silk that verifies whether the butterflies are actually allowed to hatch and live. We vet our producers very carefully and quickly realize in conversation how seriously they take these values. Therefore, we only select partners who earn our trust through transparent, reliable information and a human touch.
One of our manufacturers holds an Ahimsa patent (Peace Silk patent), confirming that they have developed a process for processing mulberry silk from already opened cocoons (after hatching) into yarns and fabrics.
