The company was founded in 2011 by Dr. Matias Langer in Leipzig – with the vision of combining fine silk with ecological and ethical values.

In 2023, upon his well-deserved retirement, Dr. Langer handed over Seidentraum to Sophia Steurer, founder of the Peace Silk fashion label Seidenstern Modedesign. Since then, the company has been run with great dedication, sensitivity, and passion – in keeping with its original values ​​and with fresh impetus for a sustainable future.

At its heart is Peace Silk (Ahimsa silk) – an animal-friendly, environmentally conscious, and socially responsible form of silk production in which silkworms are allowed to complete their natural life cycle. Carefully selected partner farms in Europe and Asia ensure a fair and transparent supply chain.
