Sophia Jacqueline Steurer
Clothing technician & master tailor with heart and tradition
Hello, I'm Sophia Jacqueline Steurer – born and raised in the green Vorarlberg region of Austria, where my passion for textiles was ignited at an early age. Even as a child, I was surrounded by fabrics, yarns, and machines: my grandfather was a respected master weaver, one of my grandmothers designed fabrics, and the other bequeathed me her entire tailoring equipment. So, the love of craftsmanship is quite literally in my blood.
I completed my training as a clothing technician and master tailor at the HTL Dornbirn (Higher Technical Institute) in the field of industrial engineering specializing in clothing technology – with excellent results. This comprehensive training combined technical expertise in production and tailoring with business acumen and creativity. It culminated in the Austrian Matura (university entrance qualification).
Even at the age of twelve, I dreamed of one day running my own textile company. The topic of my diploma thesis was "Silk & Wool"—materials that still fascinate me today. However, after graduating, I consciously decided against continuing to use conventionally produced silk, as animal welfare was already important to me back then.
A few years later, I discovered Peace Silk – an animal-friendly alternative to conventional silk – and became a customer of Seidentraum. I was immediately impressed by the ethical production, the exceptional quality, and the noticeable lightness of this material. Today, I can live out my passion for sustainable textiles as part of Seidentraum – as a designer, retailer, and person with deep conviction.

Toni Steurer
Creative mind with a sense of quality and clarity
Hello, I am Toni Steurer and since my wife took over Seidentraum, I have been active in many areas: whether in product development, shipping, direct communication with customers or as a contact person at trade fairs – my work is as diverse as our fabrics.
My passion for high-quality materials, craftsmanship, and design has been with me since my youth. Back then, I even considered starting an apprenticeship as a tailor. Out of consideration for my family, I ultimately decided on a commercial apprenticeship – a path I now consider a great advantage: My business experience helps me to strategically guide creative decisions and to develop the company sustainably.
With Seidentraum, I am fortunate to combine my two passions: a love of beautiful fabrics and an eye for sound business practices. I particularly value the personal contact with our customers, their honest feedback, and the enthusiasm we share for our sustainable fabrics and products.
