Gentle on Skin & Hair
Fabrics made from Peace Silk are gentle on hair, can help enhance its natural shine and may help reduce hair breakage – for example when sleeping on a silk satin pillowcase.
Thanks to their smooth, silky surface, hair and skin glide gently over the fabric, noticeably reducing friction and pulling. Silk is related to skin in its natural, protein-based composition, making it pleasant to wear next to the skin. It is also appreciated by those with sensitive skin and house dust mite allergies – its dense fibre structure offers dust mites significantly less habitat than many other textiles. Silk's balanced moisture management is a further benefit: the skin's and hair's natural moisture is better preserved than with polyester and cotton satin.

Satin & Bourette Silk
Satin silk impresses with its exceptionally fine, smooth fibre structure – it drapes smoothly and softly, making it equally suited for clothing, particularly blouses and wedding gowns, as well as fine bed linen.
Bourette silk contains a naturally high proportion of sericin, the natural protective protein of silk. Processed as Bourette silk jersey, it creates a soft, fluffy fabric that is comfortable to wear. Bourette silk is particularly popular for nappy and nursing inserts, baby clothing, shirts and durable bed linen.
In a scientific study (Acta Biomaterialia, 2012), silk proteins demonstrated antibacterial properties and supported the natural regeneration of the skin surface. View Study (PDF) (The study was conducted under laboratory conditions and is not directly related to our silk products.)
