Our Peace Silk – made with love and responsibility:

• Silkworm rearing takes place in the open, under natural conditions – free of chemicals and hormones. The caterpillars live outdoors and are not fed artificially.
• Our silk feels pleasant on the skin – even on sensitive skin.
• Silk is obtained cruelty-free. The moth hatches before the cocoon is spun.
• Eco-conscious: dyeing is one of the most water- and chemical-intensive steps in textile production – we skip it for our natural white and cream silk fabrics.
• By buying directly from our partner workshops we support fair conditions, mutual appreciation and the preservation of traditional craftsmanship in smallholder structures.

• A good climate for skin and scalp: silk is temperature-balancing – it warms when it is cool and cools when it is warm. It can reduce excessive sweating.
• Related to skin: like our skin, silk is protein-based – pleasant even on sensitive skin.
• Valued with house dust mite allergies: the dense fibre structure offers dust mites far less habitat than many other textiles.
• Smooth surface: gentle on hair and skin, especially woven as satin or smooth silk jersey.
