Our Peace Silk – made with love and responsibility:

Silkworm rearing takes place in the open, under natural conditions – free of chemicals and hormones. The caterpillars live outdoors and are not fed artificially.
Our silk feels pleasant on the skin – even on sensitive skin.
Silk is obtained cruelty-free. The moth hatches before the cocoon is spun.
Eco-conscious: dyeing is one of the most water- and chemical-intensive steps in textile production – we skip it for our natural white and cream silk fabrics.
By buying directly from our partner workshops we support fair conditions, mutual appreciation and the preservation of traditional craftsmanship in smallholder structures.

What Makes Silk So Good?

A good climate for skin and scalp: silk is temperature-balancing – it warms when it is cool and cools when it is warm. It can reduce excessive sweating.
Related to skin: like our skin, silk is protein-based – pleasant even on sensitive skin.
Valued with house dust mite allergies: the dense fibre structure offers dust mites far less habitat than many other textiles.
Smooth surface: gentle on hair and skin, especially woven as satin or smooth silk jersey.

Certification

Unfortunately, there is no organic certification for this product. The production is still carried out without hormones and without harsh chemicals. The fabrics are left in their natural state, unbleached and undyed. We source them directly from our manufacturer, whom we have known personally for many years.
